Our aim at Suffolk framing is to offer a bespoke personal service for all you framing needs, We frame all sorts of things not just paintings and prints. Medals, baby clothes , football shirts, memorabilia , cross stitch , sports medals, holiday memories, ceramic tiles, family collages to name a few . You may love the work but no longer like the frame. Changing the presentation of the piece will transform it and bring it back to life. You don’t have to have bought the work from us originally to ask for our help.
Every picture tells a story, whether literally or sentimentally and for this reason we take the personal approach with every customers frame. From the outset, we use our extensive knowledge and experience to guide you through the design process so that every job can reach its desired potential. This attention to detail we believe is critical to completing work to the highest standard.
We have an extensive range of frame styles, sizes and types for you to choose, from solid oak, painted or metal.
We supply and fit hangings for each frame we create with the best type to suit you wall type.
Single or multi aperture mounts. If required circular , rectangular and square. White, black and cotton core conservation and museum grade 1.4 – 3.5 micron thick boards. Textured or smooth , linen or gold leaf , metallic finish and gloss also available.
Our extensive range of conservation and museum mount boards are precision cut then the work is mounted on a backing board and taped using Ph neutral tapes.
Every part of the frame contributes to the final appearance of a picture, and none more so than the quality of through which the image is seen. We offer a range of glazing options from standard , uv protected glass as well as acrylic options essential in public buildings. We offer silvered glass (mirror) that can be used with our frames to make a stylish and elegant mirror.
Do have a canvas that needs to be stretched , cross – stitch (embroidery) pieces of tapestry. We take great care to remove ripples and indentations from pieces that may have suffered knocks or damage over time. Depending on what you are looking for, a stretched canvas can look either great on its own, either with frame or, if you would like to go one step further, even a floating inside a tray frame.
We are regularly consulted by clients who have exciting works of art with problems with foxing, broken glass, damaged frames or dirt of the ages on glazing or painted surfaces. We work with highly qualified specialist paper conservers and oil painting restorers. we are happy to refer your work to them for advice and, if appropriate, a costing. There is a small fee payable to cover our time and. travel to get the opinion.
